Empowering Local Business’ & Their Staff as They Fight for Their Right to Work Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic

Who’s up for a little throwback to March of 2020?

Rather than accepting the time off and making human-sized dents in our couches, our team took to the streets in a peaceful protest, advocating for freedom and their right to work during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Why? Because mental and physical fitness should be considered essential.

Even amongst the challenging circumstances that affected businesses across the globe, Amped Fitness stood tall, encouraging our community, other local business owners, and our staff to stand up for what they believe in. We preach a culture where victim mindsets have no place, and will always put our money where our mouth is.  We fought not only for a paycheck but for our health and the health of our community. We were willing to accept the consequences of this newsworthy display, even if that meant little public ridicule.

As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, businesses of all sizes faced unprecedented challenges. Gyms, in particular, were among the hardest hit as governments imposed restrictions to curb the spread of the virus. Amped Fitness, however, firmly believed that there is a way to balance public health concerns and the need to keep small businesses alive and thriving.

In a display of solidarity and determination, Amped Fitness organized a respectful protest outside their Pinellas Park, FL facility to shed light on the impact of extended closures on local gyms and their employees. We knew there was a way to find a mutually beneficial solution that ensures both member safety, and the green light to reopen our doors.

This fond memory cultivated a strong sense of unity within our gym and community, and strengthened our commitment to the Amped Fitness mission. As we look back, we are so proud of everyone involved and would do it again, 10x over!
